I finally made it to the Getty!

The entire building and surrounding area felt like it's own experience piece. The architecture itself is very impressive and exciting to walk around. It was very great to have breaks of natural views intermixed between walking through the gallery buildings. I felt as if I broke into a millionaire, mad scientist's, hilltop art cache - tram car line included.

The work within the building offered a nice change of pace from the modern exterior. There were many ornate and detailed paintings and sculptures from classical times. My timing was great because they were currently displaying a show focused on the images and media of World War I, particularly the art of propoganda. I found the different perspectives, styles, and messages very fascinating when compared side by side to one another.

I always come away from a museum feeling inspired, partly by the pieces and partly by the idea of such a building existing. This was a very refreshing visit and one I plan to make again.
